6 Tips Penjagaan Kasut di Rumah

Kenapa Penjagaan Kasut Perlu?

Tengah free ni meh Kakpin nak share sikit tips penjagaan kasut kat rumah. Kakpin tau kasut sis kat rumah tu bertingkat-tingkat banyaknya, belum kira dalam bonet kereta lagi kan? Hehe kita geng. Cuma Kakpin tak pasti sis jaga atau tak kasut-kasut tu semua. Ramai yang tanya Kakpin, kenapa nak susah-susah jaga kasut Kakpin? Pakai kat kaki je pun, bukan macam tudung, pakai kat kepala.

Okay meh Kakpin jawab sebelum bagi tips kat y’all sis.

Okay sis, dah cukup membebel panjang, meh Kakpin share.

#1 – Bersihkan Kasut Selepas Pakai

#2 – Keringkan Kasut Jika Basah

#3 – Asingkan Kasut Ikut Jenis

Dah la kasut kotor, lembap, lepas tu siap longgok lagi satu tempat. Haish. So kena rajin sikit susun kasut tau, lagipun kita orang perempuan ni kan suka kemas-kemas eceyh!

#4 – Simpan Dalam Kotak Beserta Gel Silika

#5 – Guna Kertas Untuk Kekalkan Bentuk Kasut

Sis kena buat benda ni sebab bila sis buat, ia akan mengekalkan bentuk kasut, nampak sentiasa cantik tak nampak membengkok mahupun terlipat.

#6 – Letak Pewangi

Buka-buka je rak kasut bau hapak satu rumah.

With love, Kakpin.

Why Shoe Care is a Need?

I know us shoe enthusiast have many pairs of shoes, some even by the dozens back at home. But being shoe enthusiasts and owning a lot of shoes don’t mean that all of us maintain and take care of our shoes the way we’re meant to. Some doesn’t even take care of their shoes at all. I’ve received some snarky remarks about me caring too much about my shoes and most of them would say that “You only wear those on your feet, why do you care so much?”

Let me tell you something, the fact that they’re worn on your feet is the main reason why you need to be more attentive to it. You go everywhere with it, be it to the toilets, parks, markets and etcetera. Shoes are prone to getting dirt on them, mud, you might step in a puddle and get it wet, or rain. And when your shoes went through all those, the materials would get damaged easily, and one more thing, bacteria would spread all around inside and out of your beloved pair of shoes.

“So don’t wear your favourite pair often to keep it from being damaged.” Well, not exactly. Even if you don’t wear it, doesn’t mean your favourite pair of shoes would last forever if you don’t take care of it properly. Doesn’t matter if it’s made out of original or fake leather or any other materials, it would still get damaged without proper storing techniques.

Shoes are like the cherry on top of the ice-cream. It complements our outfit, imagine wearing a stunning red dress with an elegant designer hand bag, but wearing a worn-out, dirty, and smelly shoes. It would ruin the whole outfit. So now let’s get right to it and talk about the tips.

  1. Clean your shoes after using it.

Imagine wearing your shoes for a whole day, just to go back home and put it on a rack without cleaning it off of dirt and soil, hoping it would magically disappear the next morning. If you don’t clean your shoes after using it, the dirt, soil and every other stuffs on it would be harder to clean the next time. And if you just let it be, fungus would start to breed and spread on and in your shoes and it would affect the materials, degrading it and damaging your shoes.

  1. Dry your shoes if it’s wet/damp.

This is a MUST do, if ever your shoes are wet or damp after you’re using it, dry it as soon as you can. You could either use paper towel, cloth or whatever that would absorb water and moisture from your shoes. But make sure that what you’re using won’t damage the materials of your shoes, so pick one that’s suitable. After you’ve done your best drying it with a cloth or paper towel, place your shoes under a shade and let it dry. DO NOT put it under direct sunlight or drying it using a hair dryer because it most probably will destroy your shoes. The glue used on shoes are usually waterproof but are sensitive to heat, so by doing that you’d affect the condition of the glue and might also affect the materials of your shoes, it might chap and chip away.

  1. Separate your shoes accordingly.

Don’t ever put your daily shoes (sneakers, sandals, etc) with your other shoes. If you do not clean and dry (see step 1 & 2) your shoes properly, this will affect other shoes in its vicinity. The dirt, mud and humidity would affect other shoes and this might leave a bad odour, damage its material and affect your good shoes in many other ways. So don’t pile your shoes on top of one another to avoid them from damaging one another.

  1. Store your shoes in boxes with silica gel.

Don’t put your expensive, rarely worn shoes out in the open or with your daily wear shoes. Put them someplace else that is dry and proper so it won’t be collecting dust on your rack. It’s better to put them in the box whence they came in, poke a few holes so it will be breathable and put your shoes in there with those silica gel that it came with, or get some at the store if you lost them. Silica gel would absorb the humidity inside the box and from your shoes. This would prevent your shoes from having bad odour because of the bacteria and germs and also keeping it perfectly dry.

  1. Keep your shoes in shape.

This is a simple tip but no one seems to be doing it. When you buy new shoes from the store, usually you’d get some papers tucked inside your shoes, or if you don’t have it take some papers, ball it up and use that. Put these inside your shoes to maintain its shape. If not, your shoes would lose its shape and it would look bad when wearing. Better yet, you could buy some shoe-tree from the store. Although it might cost you a little bit more, shoe-tree is your best choice to keep your shoes in shape. Wouldn’t it be a waste to spend so much on your beautiful shoes to just have it looks old and smushed after a few times wearing?

  1. Keep your shoes odourless.

Have you ever opened your shoe rack and a gush of bad odour smacks you in the face? Well, there are ways to keep your shoes odourless. The easiest way is to put fragrances together with your shoes inside the rack. It could be a proper shoe fragrance, or you could use soap bars, and even baby powders inside those shoes. But make sure your shoes are clean and dry or it will just worsen the smell. Doing this would remove bad odour from your shoes and keep it smelling good for your use.

So those are the 6 simple shoe care tips for all of you shoe enthusiast or really, anyone with shoes out there. Make sure you practice all these tips to better care for your shoes. Don’t neglect your shoes, it needs to be taken care of just like any other piece of things or cloth you put on your body. Hope this will help. See you next time with more tips.

Yours,

S.A.
